The nationally recognized Fourth of July “Lights on the Lake” fireworks show entails 20 minutes of spectacular pyrotechnics that illuminate the night sky over Tahoe’s clear lake to celebrate a traditional Independence Day. The summer’s iconic star-studded week of golf, gaming, and entertainment returns during the 37th annual American Century Championship, July 8-12 at Edgewood Tahoe. Celebrity golf’s most prominent tournament with more than 80 sports and entertainment superstars takes to the fairways of Edgewood Tahoe and the airwaves of NBC and Peacock. The 30th annual Valhalla Renaissance Faire brings to life the spectacle and grandeur of 16th-century England with archery demonstrations, jousting, circus performances, magic, comedy, pageantry, ale, food, music and crafts at a new location, Tahoe Paradise Park, Aug. 15-16.
The Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival returns for its 54th season from July 3 to Aug. 23, 2026, at Sand Harbor. Headlined by Shakespeare’s towering tragedy, “Macbeth,” as well as a timeless tale of adventure with “The Heart of Robin Hood.”
CHEER TO SUMMER BEVERAGES & BREWS
The 8th annual Heavenly Village Brewfest features a dozen breweries, spirits and live music, including a Bay Area favorite, Patten Leather Band, on June 13. A portion of the proceeds support Christmas Cheer, a local non-profit that offers an emergency food pantry for individuals in need.
Heavenly Village Summer Concert Series presents live music on the main stage every Friday and Saturday (plus additional weekdays) evening from Memorial Day through Labor Day.
The Tahoe Bloody Mary Fest will host 20 of the most creative bartenders from Lake Tahoe, Reno, Carson and beyond for the 15th annual competition at the Golden Nugget Lake Tahoe, Aug. 22.
The 8th annual Tahoe Brewfest features regional craft brewers, ciders, kombucha and spirits throughout California and Nevada with tastings, live music, face painting, arts and craft vendors along Ski Run Boulevard, Aug. 29, all benefitting the Boys and Girls Club of Lake Tahoe.
PUSH YOURSELF TO THE LIMIT
The long-standing DeCelle Memorial Lake Tahoe Relay, June 6, keeps the adrenaline going for the 62nd year, testing athletes as teams of seven each run approximately 8-12 miles counterclockwise around Lake Tahoe. The start/finish line is at Lakeview Commons, two miles from the state line. There are options for running solo or as a pair in a 72-mile ultra marathon.
America’s Most Beautiful Bike Ride returns for the 32nd year with fully supported routes and extended mileage and challenging climbs, June 7. More than 2,000+ cyclists will start at the Tahoe Blue Event Center in Stateline, Nev. at 6 a.m. and finish at the UNR 4H Camp in Stateline between noon and 6 p.m.
The Rock Tahoe Half Marathon, June 14, is a 13.1-mile course, which starts at the top of Spooner Summit, elevation 7,146 feet, and drops more than 1,000 feet as runners wind down U.S. Highway 50 to the finish line at the Golden Nugget Hotel & Casino Lake Tahoe. Then it’s time for a celebratory pool party for racers and their guests.
The Tahoe Mountain Bike Festival, a staple of the area, is supported by the Tahoe Area Mountain Biking Association and features bike demos, brews, and live music, June 21-22 at Tahoe Paradise Park.
The Lake Tahoe Triathlon includes sprint, half, and Olympic distances as well as a duathlon (run/bike/run) and aquabike (swim/bike) all starting from Ed’ZBerg Sugar Pine State Park, Aug. 23-24.
