Campgrounds
Eagle Point Campground at Emerald Bay State Park. Run by California State Parks, 100 sites, faucets in the campground – but no hook-ups, paid showers, flush toilets, dogs allowed with restrictions.
Emerald Bay Boat Camp, 1-800-444-7275 (PARK). The Boat-In Campground is located on the north side of Emerald Bay. Buoys are available, and camping takes place on land in the lakefront campsites. Boat Camp is open in summer only. The boat-in campground opens Memorial Day weekend on a first-come-first-served basis. The campground will be on reservations in mid-June. Overnight parking at the Vikingsholm Parking lot and the D.L. Bliss State Park Beach area is strictly prohibited. Boat campers with reservations may launch at D.L. Bliss and may park their vehicle overnight in the Balancing Rock overflow parking lot with a valid camping receipt displayed.
Depending on the weather, campgrounds are open from late May until the middle of September and are closed during the winter. The Ed Z’ Berg Sugar Pine Point State Park campground, located to the north, is open year-round.
The Eagle Point Campground usually opens mid-June. Reservations may be made 6 months in advance of your arrival date. 1-800-444-7275.
Dogs
Dogs on a 6′ leash are allowed in the campground and picnic areas, as well as on paved roads. Dogs may not be left unattended. Dogs are NOT allowed on the beach or on any trails. Dog regulations are enforced YEAR-ROUND.
