You’re invited to a fantastic Two-Part presentation on the History of South Shore Schools.
Join the Lake Tahoe Historical Society Meeting presented by Larry Lambdin and titled “FROM LAKE VALLEY SCHOOL TO LAKE TAHOE UNIFIED SOUTH SHORE SCHOOLS FROM 1881 TO PRESENT”. Part I: 1881 to 1951 is Tuesday, April 28, 2026, 6:00-7:00 pm. This is also the Spring General Membership Meeting where the third member of the Nominating Committee will be elected from the general membership. Join LTHS for the first of many exciting Tahoe History Talks for 2026.
Mark your calendar for Part II: 1952 to Present which will be held Tuesday, May 19, 2026, 6:00-7:00 pm.
The guest speaker Larry Lambdin is a retired LTUSD teacher and LTHS museum volunteer. Larry will share a PowerPoint presentation of his legacy project about early education on the South Shore. Before there was a Lake Tahoe Unified School District, another school system existed made up of one room school houses, a warehouse, and a barn. Students rode the train to school. It was the Lake Valley School District.
If you have photos or memorabilia from your school days in South Lake Tahoe, please share them at this gathering. Free and open to all (donations appreciated). Refreshments will be served.
