What is SnowGlobe

For those that don’t visit South Lake Tahoe over New Year’s, SnowGlobe is considered California’s biggest New Year’s Eve event. It really is! This annual throwdown is a three-day event hosted in South Lake Tahoe on the seasonally-dormant Community Playfields near the Lake Tahoe Community College campus. The show leans toward electronic music artists, but they always make sure there’s a few acts from other genres to spice things up. In past years, chart topping acts like Skrillex, Zedd, and Snoop Dogg have graced the multi-stage event.

 Insider’s Tips

It’s Tahoe. It’s winter. And it’s at night. Even if it is warm during the day, once the sun sets, it will get VERY cold. Skip the boho-chic festival wear and put on your parka and a pair of warm boots. And if the dancing doesn’t warm you up, the heated enclosures will. We recommend leaving the car wherever you’re staying. Convenient shuttles link the event to Stateline accommodations.
