Campground by the Lake, the name says it all, located across Hwy 50 from the big blue, Lake Tahoe. Open April through October. Camp store is on site and just down the street from the Ice Arena and Recreation & Swim Pool Complex. Cabin, group sites, hook-ups, car & tent campers and weekly rates are available. Dogs allowed on a leash.

The Campground is Currently OPEN

Please be advised that from Spring 2024 – Winter 2026 significant construction will be taking place on the north side of the Campground, previously loops A & B. Before making your reservation, be aware that loud construction noises and other construction-related activity may impact your stay. Work is scheduled between the hours of 7:00 am – 6:00 pm, 7 days a week.

The camping season runs from May (weather permitting) through the end of October.

2024 Campground Reservations – Open 

Campground by the Lake will accept reservations for loops D, E, F and portions of C. Loops A, B, and tent cabin village are no longer available due to the construction of a new Recreation and Aquatics Center.   

No Electric or Water Hookups available for any campsite.  All sites are considered dry sites. Water is available at the campground entrance and a few community (shared) water spigots are located in each loop. 

ADA Compliant Site: For campers who need access to an ADA compliant site, please email us at campgroundbythelake@cityofslt.us to make a reservation.
