Ski/Snowshoe with a Ranger at Kirkwood and Sierra at Tahoe

The Eldorado National Forest offers guided tours at Sierra at Tahoe and Kirkwood Mountain Resort through the Ski with a Ranger and Snowshoe with a Ranger conservation education programs.  

These tours last approximately one-hour and are led by Forest Service conservation education staff and volunteers in cooperation with the ski resorts. This free conservation education program is offered to help educate the public about the mission and role of the Forest Service in ski area management, improve public understanding of natural resource processes and issues, and promote environmental literacy and stewardship.

Ski with a Ranger, Sierra at Tahoe 
Get ready for an adventure with our Ski With a Ranger conservation education series at Sierra-at-Tahoe! Led by conservation experts in partnership with Sierra, this series is designed to educate the community on the natural history and ecology of our beautiful region and the Forest Service’s role in ski area management.

To participate, meet at 360 Smokehouse Grill on top of Grandview at 1PM. No reservations needed – it’s first-come, first-served!

Participants must be intermediate level skiers/snowboarders or above and provide their own lift ticket.

Dates:
Fridays, January 26 through March 29, 2024

Time & Place: 1 p.m. at the top of Grandview

Ski with a Ranger, Kirkwood Mountain Resort 

Dates:
Mondays, January 29 through March 25, 2024

Time & Place: 10 a.m. at the base of Chair 1

Note that tours may be cancelled due to inclement weather. For more information about Ski with a Ranger, contact Conservation Education Specialist Reanna Suela at Reanna.Suela@usda.gov.

Participants must be intermediate level skiers/boarders or above and provide their own lift ticket. No reservations are required.  Attendance is on a first-come, first-served basis and group size is limited to 10.
