The Harlem Globetrotters are a legendary and iconic exhibition basketball team known for their entertaining and highly skilled basketball performances. Founded in 1926, the team initially hailed from Chicago’s South Side but later adopted the “Harlem” name as a nod to the historical center of African American culture.
The Harlem Globetrotters are renowned for their unique style of play, which includes a combination of incredible basketball skills, comedy, theatrics, and audience engagement. They perform a range of dazzling tricks and maneuvers on the basketball court, including impressive dribbling, ball-handling, and trick shots. Their games are often characterized by humor, pranks on the opposing team (often referred to as the “Washington Generals”), and interactions with the crowd.
One of their most famous moves is the “confetti-in-the-bucket” shot, where a player makes a seemingly impossible basket from long distance, sending confetti flying into the air as the crowd erupts in excitement.

Transportation update:
The Tahoe Transportation District (TTD) is enhancing its Route 50 Express Service to accommodate attendees of select Tahoe Blue Event Center events. This extended service offers a convenient, reliable, and free transportation option for event goers, with plans to expand service to additional events throughout 2024 and 2025.
The Route 50 Express will operate between the South Y Transit Center and the Kingsbury Transit Center, with stops outlined in the schedule below. Parking along the route is limited; however, free parking is available at the garage on Kahle Drive near eastbound US 50 and the Lake Tahoe Community College (LTCC) Mobility Hub. The first bus will arrive at the Tahoe Blue Event Center at 5:35 p.m., one hour before doors open, and the last bus departs at 10:45 p.m..
This pilot program aims to support a variety of events, including select Tahoe Knight Monsters games (Dec. 12, 14-15 and 27-29), Disney Junior Live (Dec. 13), concerts, sporting events, and more, providing free, accessible transit for both locals and visitors. Know before you go
- Magic Pass Starts at 5:30 – doors for the Magic Pass start at 5:00. You must have a ticket to both the Magic Pass and the Game to attend the Magic Pass.
- Please allocate extra time for entering the venue. Please have your mobile tickets downloaded before arriving.
- The Tahoe Blue Event Center is a clear-bag facility.
- Re-entry will not be allowed for this event.
- The Tahoe Transportation District is now offering free rides before and after select events to the TBEC. Check out their schedule here: https://www.tahoetransportation.org/route-50-service…/
- Parking is available for Tahoe Blue Event Center events at any of the four casinos located in the basin. All parking is paid parking, and rates vary for each event. Patrons living in the basin are encouraged to take Lake Link, the free public transportation service.
- Ticket holders should use one of the main entrances located closest to Highway 50. There are 2 main entrances.
- Various concession stands will be open! The concession stands are cashless.
