The American Century Celebrity Golf Championship is one of the most significant events held at Lake Tahoe. It’s a celebration of the sport and provides athletes, comedians, singers, and entertainers of all stripes the opportunity to stretch out of their comfort zones and for a good cause, as the event gives back to several of Tahoe’s local non-profits each year. This year is the 35th annual tournament, and we have some tips for ACC and how to make the most of your time in Tahoe and on the green.
There are a few recommended ways to arrive at Edgewood Tahoe Resort with ease. Bicycle is one great option, as the bike valet is free and is located right across the street from the main entrance gate. For those staying at Stateline, you can likely walk from your hotel, and all four casino resorts have paid parking and are walking distance from Edgewood. Lake Link, a free micro-transit system on the south shore, is also available but be aware of longer wait times during peak entry and exit periods. We recommend checking expected wait times early to see if it is a good option for you or not. In order to use Lake Link, you’ll need to download the free app, but from there it’s a snap!
All items must be in clear bags and backpacks only – yes even diaper bags! Sports memorabilia in general is not allowed; the only exception is a jersey if you are wearing it, but do not layer on more than one or you may be asked to choose your favorite and throw away the rest. Word to the wise: the front gate does not have a holding area for spectators to drop off and pickup unapproved items so be very conscientious about what you bring with you or risk having to toss belongings in the garbage.
Still cameras (no video) are allowed, but leave the case at home and make sure all lenses are 6” or smaller. Similarly, binoculars free of case are allowed.
Each spectator is allowed one empty, reusable water bottle 32 oz or less. Water refill stations are
Those with medical needs, such as diabetes are welcome to bring in food. For vegan and gluten free guests, there will be options with food vendors inside so plan to dine at the event.
Collapsible chairs in a sleeve are allowed and will be searched. There is spectator seating at 1 and 10 tees.

As mentioned above, no sports memorabilia at all, except for one sport jersey if you are wearing it. This means no balls, no pucks, no posters. Leave pets and pocket knives at home.
No coolers, outside beverages or food of any kind. No items with derogatory or inflammatory language.
No selfie sticks, ladders or periscopes, whistles, horns or noise makers.

Autographs are available at the celebrity’s discretion – please only make requests before and after play.
If you aren’t familiar with the area, the high sierra is a dry, and sometimes hot, climate. Even at more moderate summer temperatures, the high altitude makes the sun stronger, which means sunburns can happen quickly. For this reason, applying sunscreen a few times throughout the day is essential, especially when you’ll be out on the green for a full day.
Along the same lines, the dry climate also means it’s important to drink more water here than you would at home. The good news is that Tahoe tap is fantastic and there are water refill stations at the snack bar adjacent to 10th tee; snack bar behind No. 3 green. For the same reason, be mindful of alcohol intake, as alcohol tolerance at high altitudes is different than at sea level and can have a much bigger impact.
We hope these tips for ACC help you to have a smooth time entering, exiting and overall attending the tournament. With lots of fun action peppered throughout the day and course, this is a golf tournament unlike any other.
