The Tahoe Area Sierra Club is inviting the public to learn more about the Washoe Tribe of Nevada and California during a well-illustrated and captivating presentation by Herman Fillmore on May 23 at the South Lake Tahoe Recreation Center on May 23 at 3:30 pm. Herman Fillmore is the Culture/Language Resources Director for the Washoe Tribe of Nevada and California.

The talk will focus on a general overview of Washoe People and Cultural Practices within their homelands while also highlighting the need to engage with Indigenous Peoples and integrate Indigenous Practices and Knowledge into the work we do today.

This 40-minute presentation from Herman Fillmore will be held at the South Tahoe Recreation Center’s Aspen Room on May 23 at 3:30 pm. Light refreshments will be offered but we request guests bring reusable water bottles to reduce our plastic waste. Seating will be first come, first serve so please register and find more information here.
