It’s the M.S. Dixie’s 30th Anniversary this year. Why is it called the M.S. Dixie II? The original MS Dixie was brought to the lake in 1949 and was in service from 1972-1993. She was showing her age in the early 90’s so a bigger boat was commissioned to replace her. The M.S. Dixie II was constructed in Wisconsin and assembled and launched at Zephyr Cove Beach in 1994.
