Sunday, August 9, Gatsby Tea & Fashion Show
The Gatsby Tea & Fashion Show is iconic part of the Great Gatsby Festival weekend! Hosted by Cherie Oliver with Yesteryear Sierra, models bring roaring 20s fashion back to life. Guests enjoy afternoon tea and 1920s luncheon, while learning the stories behind the looks and listening to live jazz. The 2026 fashion show theme is “Honeymoon at Tahoe: 1900s – 1950s.”
Be sure to don your best 1920s “glad rags” and enjoy the show! For 21+ guests, champagne service begins once the tea is through! Service provided by the Great Basin Institute staff and volunteers.
*As in 2025, the event will be hosted at the Pope House, not at the Heller Estate (Valhalla Tahoe).
**Parking: Free parking will be available for ticketed Tea & Fashion Show guests at our public parking lot, at 1 Heritage Way, South Lake Tahoe, CA 96150. It is recommended that you arrive early to secure parking, as they are first come first served. Additional parking is available at the Taylor Creek Visitor Center, and a short .5mi trail connects visitors back to the Tallac Historic Site. Purchase tickets.
For more information, buy tickets for the ticketed events, and for a complete list of Gatsby weekend events, music, vendors, programs, and more, visit the Great Basin Institute’s event page. As always, 1920s attire and attitude are encouraged!
Gatsby Afternoon Tea and Fashion Show Fundraiser, Sunday, August 9, 2026, 2 – 4 PM

A fabulous time-honored tradition at the Gatsby Festival is our Afternoon Tea and Vintage Fashion Show.
- Enjoy a traditional tiered tray served at each table with finger sandwiches, scones, and dainty desserts.
- A selection of teas will be available while you enjoy the elegance of live jazz music and great company with new and old friends.
- Following the afternoon tea service, experience our Vintage Fashion Show with this years’s theme “100 Years of Fashion”” presented by Cheri Oliver, Yesteryear Fashions!
Remember! Prohibition was in effect in the 1920s and the best way to consume alcohol was in a tea cup! Our maids and butlers will help you dispose of your tea and secretly switch to champagne!
