City of South Lake Tahoe 4th of July Celebration Parade

June 23 @ 11:02 am

On Saturday, July 4, U.S. Highway 50 will be fully closed along the parade route from approximately 8:45 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. This full closure, approved by Caltrans, is new this year and is being implemented to improve safety for parade participants and spectators.

U.S. Highway 50 will be closed between the intersections of Al Tahoe Boulevard and Ski Run Boulevard. During the closure, traffic will be detoured as follows:
Westbound traffic: Al Tahoe Boulevard to Pioneer Trail
Eastbound traffic: Pioneer Trail to Al Tahoe Boulevard

To accommodate the detour pattern, the parade route has changed this year and will now end at Lyons Avenue.
In addition to the highway closure, Ski Run Blvd. will be closed to traffic from Lake Tahoe Blvd (Hwy 50) to Tamarack Ave starting at 7:00 AM.  Ski Run Blvd. will open again at approximately 10:00 AM.
