Dan is an award winning photojournalist with 25 years experience whose expertise and professionalism set him apart from other photographers. Dan’s exquisite images tell the story of your wedding or event in a fun, creative way that allows you the opportunity to relive the excitement and joy of your special day. I only wish I could have had him as my photographer at my wedding; it would have been difficult … he was the groom.

Dan graduated from Northern Arizona University with a degree in Photojournalism. He began wedding photography in earnest in 2009 after having been employed at the Tahoe Daily Tribune for more than 16 years as a photographer. He then started to branch off into Wedding Photography, Family Photography, and Portrait Photography.

Dan Thrift is a 20 year resident of South Lake Tahoe, coming to the South Shore to work at a local newspaper as a photographer where he discovered his passion to capture the extraordinary beauty of the Lake Tahoe region. His wife Rebecca accompanies him on most assignments providing additional photography and technical support.
