My culinary training took me from Lucerne, Switzerland, to hotel kitchens in San Francisco and Nairobi — fine dining rooms & Michelin starred restaurants where I learned that great hospitality isn’t just about what’s on the plate—it’s about creating an experience people remember. It’s the thing that makes a place feel like somewhere. The standards I learned in fine dining still guide every experience I create today.

When I landed in South Lake Tahoe, I didn’t expect to stay. But Tahoe has a way of doing that to people. Six years in, I’ve eaten my way through neighborhoods most visitors never find, sat at bars where the chef is also your server and your storyteller, and learned that the meals people remember aren’t always the most expensive ones — they’re the ones with a reason behind them.

Al Tahoe is my favorite example. Quiet streets now. But this was once the beating heart of the region — home to Tahoe’s first hotel, where Gold Rush travelers knocked back something locals called “tarantula juice,” a drink supposedly strong enough to kill at 40 paces. That history is still there if you know where to look.

I created Taste of Tahoe Tours to offer the kind of Tahoe experience I couldn’t find anywhere else—one shaped by a chef’s eye for detail and a local’s appreciation for the stories that make this place unforgettable.
