Discover this 2.7-mile loop trail near Stateline, Nevada. Generally considered a moderately challenging route, it takes an average of 1 h 24 min to complete. This is a very popular area for birding, hiking, and mountain biking, so you’ll likely encounter other people while exploring. The best times to visit this trail are March through October. Dogs are welcome, but must be on a leash.
There is climbing access trail for rock climbing at the peak of this route.
Trail Directions: Parking is available before the Kingsbury North Trailhead off of SR 207. Locate the metal gate right closest to the paved road and houses. Pass through the gate and follow the trail, turn right at the first junction on to the Tahoe Rim Trail. Shortly after you will reach the Castle Rock junction; turn left. Follow the spur trail up Castle Rock for great viewpoints (orange markers). After, descend down and rejoin the Tahoe Rim Trail; turn left. After 1 mile you will reach an intersection, continue straight towards the KBN Trailhead.
