Primo’s Lake Tahoe officially opened its doors in May of 2024, fulfilling owner Jim Primo’s dream of having a self-standing location. Primo’s boasts a modern Italian menu that breaks away from the traditional red sauce. Although we still offer some classic dishes from our original menu, our new menu is creative and innovative. Italian food has very deep roots in cuisine, and rather than breaking away from that, we see it as a blank canvas to expand upon. Our talented Chef hand-makes the finest dishes, combining ingredients from all over Italy and uses them in an up-to-date fashion. 

Our wine list includes a large selection of local California wines and Italian varietals to pair perfectly with every dish. Enjoy craft cocktails, rotating craft beers on tap, and specialty wine pours.

We have a beautiful heated outdoor patio, and several different dining rooms where you can enjoy a delicious meal with your favorite beverage. We also offer a late night bar menu, and a weekend brunch. 

Chef Danny Salgado who hails from Chicago, said he’ll be using ingredients from all over Italy along with herbs he’ll be growing at the restaurant. He said they’ll be creating an innovative menu like an artist paints on a blank canvas, and using what nature and farmers have provided.

Primo’s hours:
Monday: CLOSED
Tuesday through Friday: 2pm – 11pm
Saturday & Sunday Brunch 10-2 / Dinner 4-11.

The new outside patio has a fireplace and overhead lighting, with a firepit outside the front door.

With Danny from Chicago and Jim from Boston, their pizzas will be a source of regional pride at the original location at 2180 Lake Tahoe Blvd. There will also be a daily mouthwatering calzone featured on the new menu. It will be renamed Primo’s Pizza & Subs and the hours will be Thurs-Tuesday, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Primo’s is located at 1181 Emerald Bay Rd, South Lake Tahoe, and before a major remodel, once housed another Italian favorite, Passaretti’s.
