Genoa Candy Dance
Every year on the last weekend of September, the town of Genoa hosts their annual Candy Dance Faire which offers over 300 craft and food vendors and draws thousands of people to this small town in Nevada during the two-day event. It’s absolutely massive with tents stretching from one end of Genoa to the other.
The Annual Genoa Candy Dance and Faire was originally planned as a dinner and dance in the fall of 1919 by the women of the town to raise money for street lights. There was a dance and midnight dinner at the Raycraft Hall, which is now known as the Genoa Town Hall. The women of the town made candies and cakes to pass around to the guests. The first Candy Dance was so successful they decided to make it an annual event.
Today, families mill about shopping, playing, eating and crafting. It’s a family-friendly event with tons of activities to keep the kids entertained.
The 2022 Candy Dance will be held on September 24 and 25, 2022. Come join in on the fun!

- When you’re not at the Candy Dance, fill your time up with some awesome activities like paddle boarding with South Tahoe Stand Up Paddle, hike on the Tahoe Rim Trail, check out the hot springs at David Walley’s, or rent bicycles and check out the new bike path from Kahle Community Center in Stateline to Nevada Beach, NV.

- In addition to all the yummy treats you’ll fill up on at the Genoa Candy Faire, make sure you stop in for a pie at Basecamp Pizza Co. Their outdoor patio is perfect for people-watching and corn-hole playing and their BBQ Chicken Pizza is unbeatable.
- Buy a ticket to the Genoa Candy Dance dinner, held on Saturday night of the fair from 5:30-7:30 PM. This year’s menu included BBQ pork and chicken, potato and green salads, green beans, and vegetables. The Dance follows immediately after. Tickets are available over the phone from the Genoa Town Office.
