October 4 - 6

All Day Event

September 7 @ 9:51 pm

Get ready for an unforgettable experience with 63 powerful documentaries that will move, inspire, and ignite your soul and the inaugural Lake Tahoe Documentary Film Festival. There will be 14 feature films and 49 shorts shown during the festival October 4-6, 2024, at the Tahoe Blue Event Center in Stateline, Nev.

Dive into the stories that matter, ones that aren’t normally seen at Lake Tahoe. The adventure-packed, multi-day documentary film fest will spotlight stories that light up the soul. The films are from all over the world as well as closer to home, and filmmakers are making the trek to Lake Tahoe to share in the festivities.

The festival has been the goal of South Lake Tahoe native Michelle Aguilar Ficara for over ten years since she attended her first festival.

“I hope this is just the start of something great for our Tahoe community—an annual event we can all look forward to,” said Michelle. “I believe these films can help bring more arts and culture to our mountain town, spark important conversations, and help connect us in new ways.”

It was Michelle and co-director Lane Power who created the film “Momentum” about two South Lake Tahoe athletes. She also has a long list of other documentaries that came from her camera. Now the Lake Tahoe Documentary Film Festival will be bringing 63 documentaries to the region for the first time.

The list of films that will be shown can be found at https://ltdff.eventive.org/films. Tickets and passes are available here. For the schedule, a list of parties and events, visit https://ltdff.com/.
