Construction update
The road construction season has begun in South Lake Tahoe and with that comes the start of construction on the new roundabout in Meyers, CA, at the intersection of US-50 and Pioneer Trail.
Construction is to start on May 1, 2025. The traffic signals will be operational until about September 1, 2025.
Expect heavy traffic in the area. Be mindful of one-way traffic controls, lane shifts, and detours. And please watch out for construction crews and vehicles. Be patient and give yourself extra time to get where you are going.
Remember, fines are doubled in construction zones. Slow down and move over for road crews – It’s the Law!
The Nevada Department of Transportation is advising Tahoe motorists to prepare for lane reductions beginning April 21 on the U.S. 50 Tahoe East Shore as a two-season highway repaving and improvement project launches. Click here for more information.
Keep Tahoe Awesome
The clearest blue water. The brightest green mountains. It’s awe and then some, but all this awesome doesn’t happen by accident. It comes from mutual respect for the South Shore, from locals and visitors alike. That’s why we created Rules to Lake By: five ways to practice responsible tourism at Lake Tahoe, so we can keep this place awesome today and awesome tomorrow.
