There is something in the water and Lake Tahoe water’s in Lake Tahoe’s blood. Soak up the sun (it’s closer up here) at the Lake, on the Lake, above the Lake, in the Lake. Beach it, boat it, soar above it, hike around it, bike next to it. We can’t get enough of Lake Tahoe and neither will you. There’s a Lake experience for everyone no matter how active or how laid back you are. Power boats, wave runners, parasailing or helicopter adventures for panoramic views. Catch a lake view from the top of the Gondola or Emerald Bay. Why stop there? The Heavenly Mountain Coaster is barreling through the pines. For a family day Heavenly’s Epic Discovery offers rope courses, zip lines, climbing wall and tubing (yes! Summer tubing!) But no sleepy-time for you! Catch a second wind for entertainment, gaming or a nightclub. That’s right. Our sidewalks are still open way past bedtime.
As for sidewalks, there’s some serious stroll and shop on them all over town. The Crossing, The Village Center, the Chateau at the Village, and Heavenly Village are beckoning to you with dozens of unique boutiques, eateries and live music. Don’t head back to that comfy room yet; take in some dinner and a magic show right there at the Loft Theatre or pretend you’re a putting pro at the mini-golf course.
Whew! Take a break and take a drive. Perhaps to Genoa, the oldest town in Nevada, or Virginia City, built for the Comstock Lode silver mining boom. It’s okay if you can’t see the Lake for a day; it’ll be here when you get back in time for a lakefront dinner with a view of the Sierra Nevada. Plus, don’t forget to check out the hot springs near Lake Tahoe.
