Get Your Tahoe Fix From A Safe & Physical Distance

By: Alex Silgalis

Before this past week, many of us had never heard the term “social distancing” or “flattening the curve.” This new reality is a tough one for all of us. And while we’ve gotten a lot of snow blanketing the Sierra Nevada, the mountain town you love needs you to love it from a safe, social distance. Instead of coming to visit, here are a few “virtual” vacation ideas to get your Tahoe Fix and help our community flatten the curve until travel and social gatherings are safe to resume.

Hop-On The Heavenly Coaster Virtually

While Heavenly Mountain resort is closed until further notice, you can virtually enjoy riding the gravity-powered mountain coaster which is available in winter AND summer. Located at the top of Heavenly, get a taste of this adrenaline-packed ride alongside amazing views of the lake.

Hit The Slopes Digitally

For those that want to taste the ski slopes of Lake Tahoe, check out this amazing 360-degree feed of spring skiing from last season.

Transport Yourself To Summer & Cruise Your Way To Emerald Bay

As we go through these high-tensioned times, it’s important to unwind and keep yourself healthy at the same time. Take a virtual boat tour of Emerald Bay in 4K that will feel as though you’re here. Be sure to hit the arrows on the top left corner to really take it all in.

Enjoy A Lake Tahoe Sunset

We’ve had many requests from visitors to showcase the snow we have right now. And we’re thankful that all of you are staying in your communities and practicing social distancing. Here’s a great live feed from Edgewood Tahoe.

Take In The Tahoe Tunes Via The Quarantunes Virtual Music Festival

We have and always will have year-round entertainment. With all concerts, tours, and events being canceled, the folks who put on Live at Lakeview wanted to provide a place for local artists to share their music, reach new fans and hopefully recoup some income! And so, we’re proud to announce the Quarantunes Virtual Music Festival – where social distancing meets live entertainment! Three of your favorite Live at Lakeview artists will be streaming a LIVE concert straight to your living room, starting at 5 pm on Thursday, March 26 and running weekly through April 23rd. Each concert will be FREE to view. Artist donations are strongly encouraged.

Live streams will take place on the Live At Lakeview Facebook Page. Find the Facebook Event here: https://www.facebook.com/events/647661685796263/

Again, thank you for loving us from a safe and social distance. Once it’s deemed safe by the health experts, we’ll be the first to welcome you back with open arms and will be joining you in all the fun that Tahoe has to offer. Stay happy. Stay Healthy. And enjoy some “Tahoe Time” right from your couch.
