Xtreme International Ice Racing (XIIR) returns to Lake Tahoe for Round 2 of high-speed competition! Watch skilled riders race studded motorcycles and quads across the ice, navigating sharp turns and battling head-to-head—all without brakes. Bring the whole family for an action-packed evening of ice racing!
Ice speedway bikes may look like ordinary motorcycles, but these lightweight machines are built for serious speed. Weighing just 180 pounds, they feature powerful four-stroke engines capable of reaching 14,000 RPM and producing approximately 90 horsepower. Each bike is equipped with up to 1,600 razor-sharp steel studs for traction on the ice—and no brakes!
A typical event features 20 to 25 races, depending on rider participation. Competitors face off in four-lap qualifying heats, with four riders racing handlebar-to-handlebar to earn points toward the Main Event. The top qualifiers advance to a six-rider, six-lap final.
The short races are intentional. Controlling these powerful machines requires tremendous strength and endurance, while the studded tires place significant demands on the ice surface. Every lap tests the riders’ speed, skill, and precision as they compete for the finish line.

Transportation update:
The Tahoe Transportation District (TTD) is enhancing its Route 50 Express Service to accommodate attendees of select Tahoe Blue Event Center events. This extended service offers a convenient, reliable, and free transportation option for event goers.
The Route 50 Express will operate between the South Y Transit Center and the Kingsbury Transit Center. Parking along the route is limited; however, free parking is available at the garage on Kahle Drive near eastbound US 50 and the Lake Tahoe Community College (LTCC) Mobility Hub. Additional events and Route 50 Express Service schedules will be posted at http://www.tahoetransportation.org
Expanded Late-Night Transit:
The Tahoe Transportation District (TTD) is expanding South Shore transit options with the launch of Route 51, beginning Thursday, September 11, 2025. This new route will operate Thursdays through Saturdays only (serving the Y Transit Center to Kingbury Transit Center) and is designed to better serve both residents and visitors during late-night travel periods. Service schedules will be posted at www.tahoetransportation.org

- Please allocate extra time to enter the venue. Please have your mobile tickets downloaded before arriving.
- The Tahoe Blue Event Center is a clear-bag facility.
- Re-entry will not be allowed for this event.
- Parking is available for Tahoe Blue Event Center events at any of the four casinos located in the basin. All parking is paid parking, and rates vary for each event. Patrons living in the basin are encouraged to take Lake Link, the free public transportation service.
- Ticket holders should use one of the main entrances located closest to Highway 50. There are two main entrances.
- Various concession stands will be open! The concession stands are cashless.
