Veteran's Day

The ceremony will be held rain or shine and will move indoors in the case of inclement weather.

Entertainment for the event will be provided by Davin Kangas and Jill. Being a veteran himself, this is very important to Davin. Maria will be on the bagpipes and the Girl Scouts will be handing out flags.

There will be noted speakers and local dignitaries including the police, fire, and sheriffs departments, city council, the county supervisor, and the Daughters of the American Revolution.

Chewy will have his Tacos Porfavor Catering Truck there and cake and coffee will be there for those with a sweet tooth.

On Tuesday, November 9 at 9:00 a.m. flags will be placed on the gravesites of all veterans at Happy Homestead. Anyone who would like to help is welcome.

Monica Porter and Sandy McKnight of the American Legion Post 795 Auxillary have decorated the display cases in the entrance to the South Lake Tahoe Library. The display is to celebrate veterans, Sons of The American Legion, and the American Legion Post 795 Auxiliary. The display will be there through December.

The American Legion appreciates the community’s support and looks forward to welcoming them on November 11.
