The Novelist Reunion Show at Valhalla

Historic Boathouse Theatre at Valhalla

1 Valhalla Rd, South Lake Tahoe, CA 96150

July 17

7:30 pm - 10:00 pm

December 2 @ 12:36 am

Wednesday, July 17, 2024, 7:30 pm, The Novelist Reunion Show in the Boathouse Theatre at the Tallac Historic Site.

An elderly couple stands precariously on the railing of a 17-floor balcony…two teenagers unknowingly choose a murder scene for their parking date, and a young man throws off the shackles of a bullish culture. These are just a sample of the scenes in which you’ll find yourself immersed when you listen to The Novelists. Equally comfortable acoustic or electric, the Novelists showcase cliffhanger storytelling, multiple lead singers, and their signature four-part harmonies.

The Novelists have become a mainstay in the West Coast festival, college, and house concert circuits. They’ve shared the stage with Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, John Prine, and Daryl Stuermer (Genesis). Notable performances include: “Sail Across The Sun” Music Cruise Festival (Hosted by Train), Cowboys Stadium (Dallas, TX), Strawberry Music Festival (Camp Mather, CA), California Wordfest, (Grass Valley, CA), Americana Music Festival (Virginia City, NV), Black Potatoe Music Festival (Clinton, NJ), Watsonville Strawberry Festival (Watsonville, CA), The Knitting Factory (Reno, NV), Shank Hall (Milwaukee, WI – w/guest musician Daryl Stuermer of Genesis), Swallow Hill (Denver, CO), The Living Room (NY, NY)

The Tallac Historic Site is located 2 miles past the intersection of Highway 50 and Highway 89, just past Camp Richardson, on the lake side of Highway 89. Please turn right on the street with the sign “Valhalla.” If the gate is locked or the 73-space parking lot is full, feel free to park along Hwy 89 outside the entrance. There is a large dirt lot just past the Valhalla Tahoe sign. Overnight parking is not allowed inside the gate. Cars can be left overnight outside the gate in the dirt lot at the owner’s own risk.

We encourage carpooling, bike riding, and good old-fashioned walking. Parking is allowed in designated 73 spaces only. There is also a large public parking lot for the Tallac Historic Site on Heritage Way, one street West of Valhalla Road, that is open in late May or early October.

  • There are ~225 yards between the parking lot and the Boathouse Theater. Please wear comfortable shoes and allow time for the walk. A site host can bring a golf cart around for accessibility issues if scheduled ahead of time.

  • Light snacks, popcorn, and beer and wine are available for sale at our concessions.
