The Eldorado National Forest is pleased to announce the 2023 Ski with a Ranger conservation education program at Kirkwood Mountain Resort and Sierra at Tahoe. The tours last approximately one hour and will occur on the following dates, weather permitting:
Kirkwood Mountain Resort
Dates: March 10 (Fri)
Time & Place:10 a.m. at the base of Chair 1
Sierra at Tahoe Resort
Dates: April 2 (Sun)
Time & Place: 1 p.m. at the top of Grandview
Participants must be intermediate-level skiers/boarders or above and provide their own lift ticket. No reservations are required. Attendance is on a first-come, first-served basis, and the group size is limited to 10.
The Eldorado National Forest is pleased to announce the 2023 Snowshoe with a Ranger conservation education program at Kirkwood Mountain Resort. The tours last approximately one hour and will occur on the following dates, weather permitting:
Dates: March 10 (Fri)
Time & Place: 1 p.m. in front of the Cross Country Center
Participants must be able to snowshoe without assistance and provide their own lift ticket. No reservations are required. Attendance is on a first-come, first-served basis, and the group size is limited to 12.
All tours are led by Forest Service conservation education staff and volunteers in cooperation with the ski resorts.
These free conservation education programs are offered to help educate the public about the mission and role of the Forest Service in ski area management, improve public understanding of natural resource processes and issues, and promote environmental literacy and stewardship.
