Clean Up The Lake is excited to announce its Inaugural Polar Plunge! This is taking place Saturday, May 10th from 9:30-10:30 AM (Plunge at 10:00 sharp!) at Lakeside Beach in South Lake Tahoe. Dive into a morning of chilly fun and bold community action—all in support of our diver-powered mission to remove litter from Lake Tahoe and surrounding alpine lakes.
Click here to register for the plunge!
The first 50 participants to register will receive a FREE custom beach towel from SLOWTIDE, made from 100% recycled post-consumer materials and embroidered to commemorate the “Inaugural Clean Up The Lake Polar Plunge”. Space is limited—we’ll be capping the plunge at 75 registrants for safety reasons. But don’t worry, your friends and family are welcome to come watch the fun and cheer you on at the beach while you take the plunge!
Best of all, your participation helps us reach our $40,000 fundraising goal! We’ve already secured a $15,000 matching donation from an incredible anonymous supporter, plus $5,000 in additional matching funds from Lake Tahoe Community College—bringing us to $20,000 in matching dollars ready to double your impact.
“Lake Tahoe Community College is proud to support Clean Up The Lake and its efforts to reduce the amount of trash in Lake Tahoe and throughout the Sierra Nevada environment. It’s why we adopted a mile of beach at Lakeview Commons — a high-use area for our community and for the college, especially for our youth, wilderness, and environmental science programs. We’re committed to being good stewards of the lake we benefit from and are excited to participate in the Inaugural Polar Plunge as part of this important partnership.”
