El Dorado Beach and Boat Ramp is located on Highway 50 at Lakeview Avenue. It is the place to go for large picnics, launching your boat, renting a kayak or water toy, viewing the lake or simply relaxing.
Lakeview Commons at El Dorado Beach and Boat Ramp is the largest beach area in South Lake Tahoe, it is the place to go for large picnics, launching your boat, renting a kayak or water toy, viewing the lake, or simply to relax. Highlights of this facility include:

Explore El Dorado Beach Virtually
El Dorado Beach Boat Ramp is open year-round depending on accessibility. The boat ramp is dependent on lake levels and the beach is open year-round. El Dorado Beach is managed by the City of South lake Tahoe Parks Department. In the Winter months the amenities at Lakeview Commons are closed such as concession stand and restrooms. Parking is available at no charge all year.
Update for Summer 2023
The City of South Lake Tahoe has announced an expansion of its hours at the El Dorado Beach Boat Ramp and an update on the Bijou Golf Course.
The boat ramp is now open Friday-Wednesday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The last boat launch is at 4:30 p.m. They are closed on Thursdays. A boat inspection is required before entering Lake Tahoe but they are not provided at this ramp.
